Section 10, officially Baseline Grandstand 10, is down the first base line about as far as the last section of pavilion level seating above. Section 10 has not changed much in recent years, but the first row was reclassified as Right Field Box seats. In 1975 Section 10 held 234 seats in 18 rows. Currently it holds 221 seats in 17 rows.
When Sections 1 through 10 were built in 1934, there were no seats, only benches. Rows were closer together, so there was even less leg room than there is now. In these sections you will notice that after every 4th row there is extra vertical separation from the next row. That indicates that 4 rows of seats were created out of 5 rows of benches. A few inches of concrete were added to make four rows deeper, and the fifth row was sacrificed. So when the following row was made deeper, it started on a level an extra row higher than the 4th. What this means is that if you are in rows 2, 6, 10, or 14, you have an extra height advantage over the row in front of you.
Section 10 was closest to home plate of the sections in the “right field pavilion”, separated from the grandstand by an open alley (“Canvas Alley”). The left side of this section (facing the field) has a short wall and railing, similar to that on the side of Section 1. Beyond the wall, the open space was replaced by seats in 1940, which increased the capacity of Section 11. Because the main seating bowl and the right field pavilion were built separately, the seat levels do not match, and the wall and railing are still in place.
Section 10 is lower priced than adjacent Section 11. Rows 1 through 10 are higher priced than rows 11 through 17.
Best seat: Row 1 Seat 1 (aisle)
Worst seat: Row 5 Seat 13 (behind pole 11)
