Section 11, officially Infield Grandstand 11, is down the first base line between first base and the Pesky Pole. This is the “Infield Grandstand” section farthest from home plate; the “Baseline Grandstand” begins in Section 10. Ticket prices in 2017 were on average $25 higher here than in the adjacent Section 10.
Part of Section 11 exists where there were no seats before. “Canvas Alley”, where the groundskeepers emerge during some inning breaks, was once a ground-to-sky opening between the main seating bowl and the “right field pavilion”. It was similar to the opening between Grandstand Section 1 and Bleacher Section 43.
This opening has been filled in almost completely except near the field. The grounds crew still gathers there at times, and grooming tools are stored there. The alley is also a convenient way for wheelchairs to access the field. But in the grandstand area, the alley was filled with seats. If you sit in seats 1 through 7 in each row you will find that the floor is metal instead of concrete. If you go underneath the stands and look up, you can clearly see the metal infill.
Because the main seating bowl and the right field pavilion were built separately, the seat levels do not match. That is why there is a ramp at the top of Section 11 to reach Section 10, and there is a short wall, railing, and height difference between Sections 11 and 10.
Section 11 seating has not changed in at least 50 years, during which capacity has remained at 340 (17 rows of 20).
The seats in Row 1 have long leg room.
Rows 1 through 10 are higher priced than rows 11 through 17.
Best seat: Row 1 Seat 20
Worst seat: Row 1 Seat 7 (behind pole 11)
