Section 4, officially Right Field Grandstand 4, is way out in right field, straddling an extension of the foul line. It formerly extended down to the ramp openings, but the area between the poles and the ramp opening was reclassified as Right Field Boxes (now Right Field Box 90). In 1975 Section 3 held 850 seats in 35 rows. In 2016 it held 538 seats in 17 rows. In 2017, during the reconfiguration of Sections 5-7 for installation of Tully Tavern (now Hornitos Cantina), the aisle between 4 and 5 was relocated further from home plate. 96 seats from Section 4 were removed or reassigned to Section 5. Currently Section 4 holds 442 seats in 17 rows.
When Sections 1 through 10 were built in 1934, there were no seats, only benches. Rows were closer together, so there was even less leg room than there is now. In these sections you will notice that after every 4th row there is extra vertical separation from the next row. That indicates that 4 rows of seats were created out of 5 rows of benches. A few inches of concrete were added to make four rows deeper, and the fifth row was sacrificed. So when the following row was made deeper, it started on a level an extra row higher than the 4th. What this means is that if you are in rows 2, 6, 10, or 14, you have an extra height advantage over the row in front of you.
The rearmost rows of Section 4 are converted to temporary working press area when a World Series takes place.
In Row 1, Seat 1 has long leg room.
Rows 1 through 10 are higher priced than rows 11 through 17.
Best seats: Row 1 Seat 26 (aisle)
Worst seat: TBD
