Section 6, officially Right Field Grandstand 6, is down the first base line past the Pesky Pole. It formerly extended down to the field, but in the early 1970s the seats between the field and the roof support poles were changed to Upper Box 92 (now called Right Field Box 92). Later, the six rows closest to the field were reclassified as Right Field Box 5. Currently it holds 230 seats in 11 rows.
The rearmost ten rows were removed in 2017 when the Tully Tavern was created (now the Hornitos Cantina). 210 seats were removed.
When Sections 1 through 10 were built in 1934, there were no seats, only benches. This whole section of stands was called “The Pavilion”. Rows were closer together, so there was even less leg room than there is now. In these sections you will notice that after every 4th row there is extra vertical separation from the next row. That indicates that 4 rows of seats were created out of 5 rows of benches. A few inches of concrete were added to make four rows deeper, and the fifth row was sacrificed. So when the following row was made deeper, it started on a level an extra row higher than the 4th. What this means is that if you are in rows 2, 6, or 10, you have an extra height advantage over the row in front of you.
Best seat: Row 1 Seat 21
Worst seat: Row 1 Seat 4 (behind pole 6)
The chart below shows which seats are obstructed (view of catcher, batter, pitcher, or anywhere in between them blocked), partially obstructed (the bases or anywhere inside the diamond blocked), almost totally unobstructed (only foul territory or a small part of the outfield blocked), or totally unobstructed
(including grass in foul territory); and shows which seats have blocked
